Mood Board

I created this mood board after i found a number of articles and pictures in magazines and movie posters that associate themselves with our music video. I collected them together and made this.

I also watched a film called "John Tucker Must Die" which is also all about getting revenge on an ex-boyfriend that cheated on you.

Weeks Events - 18th October

This week editing is really coming along and we are getting a really goos idea of what the first cut is going to look like. We have been a little worried with regards to whether we would get it done but i think we will. There are many shots that we really like and work really well and quite a few that our teacher likes too.

I will not be present in the final lesson before half term so the final amount of editing will be done by Marianna and Perry.

This week we have started the editing process however I missed one lesson due to being absent from school however we are still confident that we can produce a rough cut the first week after half term.

About The Veronicas

In 2004, Lisa Origliasso and Jessica Origliasso were introduced to the Music Director of The Bell Hughes Music Group, Hayden Bell. After producing some demo recordings with the twins, Bell invited them to sign a publishing agreement with Excalibur Productions. In the process, they progressed in musical style from acoustic pop to the more rhythmic rock pop approach that is now their trademark. On the strength of these demos, Bell took them to meet the executives at Engine Room and they were immediately signed to a production deal. To further develop their song writing skills, Bell connected them with several internationally acclaimed songwriters and producers including Clif Magness (who has written with Avril Lavigne), Billy Steinberg (Madonna, Cyndi Lauper), Max Martin (Britney Spears, Katy Perry, P!nk), Eric Nova, Dead Mono and Vince DeGiorgio, where they created a catalogue of over 50 songs. Meetings were then arranged with Warner Bros. Records in the USA. Seymour Stein and senior executives recognised that Bell had indeed discovered and developed a musical talent, signing them quickly to a recording contract with Warner Bros. Records/Sire America, for a reported sum of 2 million dollars.

The twins’ band name came about, according to Lisa Origliasso, after watching a movie. "So one day we saw the movie Heathers, and there's a line where Christian Slater asks, 'Are you a Heather?' and Winona Ryder's character answers, 'No, I'm a Veronica,' and so we went with that, because she was this kind of cool, unique chick with an attitude." - which of course reflects their own style of music.

Weeks Events - 4th October 2010

This week we have really felt the pinch of time but we do plan to film the remaining scenes this weekend (Saturday 9th of October) at Alanna Petty's house. She will be featured in the band performance shots and also be assisting with camerawork as both Marianna Theochari and Perry Allen will be unable to attend this filming session. Anything we do not manage to get will have to be filmed quickly in our final week of school so that we can really get started with the editing.

On Friday, 8th of October, neither Marianna or Perry were present in the lesson so i started editing some of the footage we had already with Alanna.

Production Schedule

Weeks Events - 27th September 2010

On Wednesday 29th September 2010, we started filming our video. With all the filming that we did, we think that we have got around half of the material needed for our video. We managed to get all shots that we set out to get however we did run into a couple of problems with regards to the tape we were recording on as many little lines would keep appearing, ruining the shot but this didn't happen to all of them so we think that in the editing stages we may be able to get around this.

We attempted many different shots that we hadn't put on our animatic so that we will have many to choose from when it comes to editing.

What We Like About the Original Video

The two main features of the original "Veronicas" video of their song "Everything I'm Not" that we would like to keep with our cover is the idea that the guy we are getting revenge on is watching a video back to see just what we have done to him as well as what we think of him.

One shot that i also really like and would like to try and keep is the Garage performance shot as i feel this sums up the kind of video perfectly with the band playing and one of the singers playing an instrument.

We also want to keep a shot similar to this below so as to establish the fact that the guy is a cheater that we are getting our own back on.
