Avril Lavigne's 2 Covers
As we were taking a lot of inspiration from Avril Lavigne throughout our entire production process, we have been following what she has been doing and on the 2nd of March 2011 she released a new album with a cover that was very different and much softer compared to the last one. This has provoked us into doing two very different covers which we will then be shown to our audience that are both members of our target audience and have seen the video and ask them which one they would prefer.

Intended Audience Feedback on our Final Cut
Here is some feedback that i got from our intended audience after I showed them our final cut.
"Loved it - very professional"
"I really like the SIM card shot - I like that I could tell it was a SIM card!"
"Amy could have appeared more but Becci was a really good, believable character"
"I love the burning photograph of Marianna shot, I've seen something like that in a film and I really liked it"
"Seemed like it really could have happened"
"The scene was set very well and knew what was happening and why the entire way through"
"Made me Laugh"
"Love the "Girls getting their own back" vibe - made me feel proud to be female"
"The shot that took place in the garage was by far my favourite as I've seen that shot in music videos that are very similar to this one and i think it was the best shot of the entire video"
"I really like the way that in that close up of Becci (the shot in the garage), the camera moved and tilted, but not in a bad way. It made it seem far more professional and gave it a lot more variation as it changed it up a bit as not all shots were straight. I really liked it."

My Favourite Shots

I really like this shot as i think it added a little more magic and it changed the tempo a little.

This garage shot i felt was necesssary from the moment we started planning the video as i knew that other videos from the genre as well as the Veronicas themselves. I think that we did it very well.

I love this shot purely because of the framing through my living room door.

The burning of the photo shot was one of the ones that took the longest to get and was in fact that finally thing that we got filmed but i think that the final shot is very good and I am proud of it.

I like this shot because of the cheeky look on Becci's face as this was meant to be a little wink at the audience to make them feel a little more included.

I like this shot as I think it allowed us to show off our skills when it came to the editing and think the blend worked really well.

I really like this shot as again we demonstrated with the camera angle to get a dutch tilt whilst Becci was singing and I think that this work very well and fit the genre perfectly.

This was another shot we used as you see many of them in other music videos of our genre which are a close up of the instrument player as well as the instrument.

I really liked this shot as it is the final shot of the video and very much evoked the classic movie "walking off into the sunset" thought. For this reason I thought it was a fitting ending.

Similar Professional Digipack
Avril Lavigne's Album "The Best Damn Thing" is a very good example of a professional product that we will choose to take inspiration from when creating our digipack.
The Album cover establishes a very clear genre and through the use of many colours, makes the cover appear quite punky yet through the use of many pink colours- proves that the target audience for the album is likely to be girls/women. The mixture of the crossed bones with the heart clearly displays this as the typical skull that you would see over crossed bones has been removed. She also has a very clear logo on the cover that seeing it alone without her name, is iconic to her. This is something we would like to replicate.

Original Plan for Digipack
These were our original sketches for the cover and back of our digipack as well as our band logo.
We wanted to include things such as broken hearts as well as vines and possibly something quite female such as shoes as signifiers to show that it is possibly a female band as well as the fact that the story that they are portraying is a probable unhappy one.

With regards to the location of our Magazine ad, we have found that there is no magazine currently in print that would target the same audience as our production, as our audience is quite niche, therefore we feel that our ad would be found in a magazine that lies somewhere between the typical female magazine and a music magazine however we feel that we could possibly publiscise our digipack in a magazine like "Elle".
